From Falafels to Waffles
Posted in Family, House of Prayer on 25. Feb, 2010
Well, one day I’m living in Jerusalem dealing with the layers of dust on my tables from the Judean desert, and the next day I’m living in Brussels dealing with the constant rain and chill in the air. Did I say “chill”? No, I meant COLD! What am I doing in a cold climate? I hate cold weather. I am the one who prays that summer will arrive quickly in Texas, because I love the 100 degree days. I seriously do. I love hot, sweating weather. And now I’m in Belgium where they say it’s a nice day if it’s 45 degrees. Yikes! I don’t even have a coat that’s appropriate for cold weather!

Belgian waffle
This is a store-bought waffle that we have here in the house for my 1 yr-old grandson, Shiloh. He LOVES these waffles! The ones they sell on the streets here are much bigger and better.
Preston and I have been in Brussels for 7 days now. It feels like a lot longer than that. Is that bad or good? It must be good, because it shows how I totally adapted to life here. (Ha! I wish…) We have been having a lot of fun, though. Jonathan let me take him to work yesterday, and Preston, Destiny, Lyric, Shiloh, and I spent the afternoon at Ikea. Gary and I have to buy a bed, and we want the same bed we had in Israel. It was so comfy. Anyway…Gary is still in Jerusalem tying up loose ends and getting our belongings shipped here to Belgium. By the time he gets here we will be moved into the new Ninth Hour ministry house where we’ll have tons of room. I can’t wait to post pictures after we move in. It looks like we will be moving on March 7th. God is so good. This is such an answered prayer for the ministry here. This house will be the birthplace of IHOP Brussels (Brussels House of Prayer). We can’t wait until we get moved in and start having morning prayer meetings and watches!
Pray for my sweet husband. He has a LOT of work to do in getting our “stuff” sorted and moved. I feel bad that I’m not there helping him, but we can blame it on the Israeli Interior Department. Well, I need to go get my Snuggie out of my suitcase. I’m fa-reezing!

Oooh! I’m inspired. The world’s FIRST ever falafel waffle. Yes? No?
Oh well. The name is cool, though. You could TOTALLY rock a site called wafflesandfalafels.com.
I second that Daniel!
That’s a great blog name.
