Pleasant Surprises
Posted in Belgium and Europe on 28. Apr, 2010
When we moved to Belgium two months ago, it was full-fledged winter here. Below freezing temperatures, snow, sleet, wind, rain, cloudy ALL the time. Now two months later I feel like it is a different world. It’s still very cool in the early mornings, but the beauty of springtime in Belgium has totally surprised me. There are flowers everywhere. Even in our backyard where we’ve done absolutely no planting or yard work (other than mowing once), we have signs of spring everywhere.

I love all the flowers in our yard, but I want to show you my pleasant surprise for the day. I have been wanting an herb garden so badly here. I had one at my house in Texas and loved it. When you get used to cooking with fresh herbs it hurts when you can’t go out in your yard and just get what you want. Well, as I was perusing all the flowers yesterday I discovered rosemary and oregano growing in the flower garden! And there is room to plant more herbs, which is what I am going to do in the next couple of days. Pleasant surprises….God thinks of everything, doesn’t He?!

I pray your day is filled with pleasant surprises!
Now for my grandchild picture of the day. This pic was not staged. I walked through the living room and this is exactly what I found:

Jon, Shiloh, and Lyric are hard at work writing blog posts...

aww that picture is too cute!
